This has a traditional feel to it with dried red berries and sandalwood on the nose. Hints of balsamic and dried mushroom, too. Mediumbodied with ultra fine tannins and a long, nicely spiced finish. Very pleasant, but seems a little older than it is. Drink or hold.
Barolo is certainly not a wine that needs much introduction. It has always been called "the king of wines and the wine of kings". A symbol of Piedmont, known throughout the world and appreciated for its complexity and ability to withstand the passage of time. The Barolo offered here by Cantina Aresca is the result of rigorous workmanship and an even stricter company discipline than that imposed by the Consortium. Long macerations on the skins and slow maturation in large wooden barrels. The result is a Barolo of rare elegance, with ample and intense aromas and great structure. Intense red, with garnet hues, the nose hints of red fruits accompanied by spicy and balsamic notes. The taste is harmonious, enveloping and silky tannins. Also splendid as a meditation wine.
