Tenuta di Caseo is a true wine-growing treasure that extends over a vast area of 120 hectares, 90 of which are planted with vines. We are located in the Alta Valle Versa, in the heart of the Oltrepò Pavese. This noble property, dating back to 1200, combines historical richness with an extraordinary terroir, perfect for the production of excellent sparkling wines. The Oltrepò Pavese, after all, is a unique wine-growing region, sometimes referred to as the Tuscany of the North or the old Piedmont. Here Tenuta di Caseo has found the ideal place for the cultivation of Pinot Noir, a noble and complex grape variety that finds a natural habitat in the province of Pavia. In the estate's vineyards, then, Chardonnay and Moscato, all bred according to strict quality standards and low yields. The estate's most prestigious vineyards face south or south-west on the highest elevations, where conditions are perfect for the production of high quality sparkling wines. For years, the estate has been part of the galaxy controlled by the Veneto-based Tommasi. And thanks to the efforts of oenologist Giancarlo Tommasi, today Caseo produces a Pinot Noir of absolute excellence.
