Masùt da Rive describes its land with elegance and simplicity. The company, now run by brothers Fabrizio and Marco Gallo, offers a range of highly recognisable wines. Their philosophy is simple: to produce wines that are an authentic expression of the territory, combining respect for Friulian traditions with modern techniques. We are in the heart of the Friuli Isonzo DOC, in Mariano del Friuli. This is a special land, shaped by the proximity of the Isonzo River. A unique soil, rich in red clay and pebbles, deposited by ancient floods. These pebbles play a fundamental role: during the day they store the heat of the sun and at night they release it, ensuring optimal ripening of the grapes. Furthermore, interestingly, the Masùt da Rive vineyards are located right on the 46th parallel, the same latitude as the famous Burgundy region. This geographical coincidence is no small detail; it suggests a natural vocation for great structured whites, but also for elegant reds, primarily Pinot Noir. But there is more. The Gallo family does not just make good wine; they also care about how they make it. Masùt da Rive is an example of how agriculture can be modern and attentive, focusing on environmental and ethical sustainability. The winery relies on clean energy from the sun, and green choices are made in the vineyard that make a difference. This respect for the natural cycle of the plant and the environment translates into intact grapes and, consequently, wines with a unique character.
