Los Cerros de San Juan

Founded in 1854, Bodega Los Cerros de San Juan is Uruguay's oldest winery, a true symbol of tradition and innovation. Located in the department of Colonia, it stands in a hilly area with stony, well-drained soil, ideal for growing grapes. The estate preserves historic stone buildings, declared a national monument, alongside modern winemaking technologies. Its labels range from the fresh Cuna de Piedra whites to the structured Maderos reds and the refined Lahusen wines, inspired by the German origins of the founding family. In the cellar, concrete, crushed pottery and oak interact with the past. Each wine is an authentic expression of the Uruguayan terroir. The bodega is also an oasis for wine tourism, offering tastings, guided tours and local cuisine. A place where history, nature and a passion for wine come together.
