A corner of France in the great heart of the Marche. A fascinating story that takes us straight back to 1956, the year in which the Alessandri family acquired Podere Boccadigabbia, one of the "hundred estates" of the Bonaparte administration of Civitanova. A huge estate that for more than a century was an important example of modern, organised agriculture. In 1986, a programme of vineyard renewal was begun, as a result of which the most important French varieties, already cultivated in earlier times, were replanted. Then, in 1996, the Alessandri family bought another vineyard with an old tradition. Tenuta Floriana, situated on the generous hills of Montanello, near the city of Macerata. This renowned winery cultivates the most important local varieties such as Montepulciano, Sangiovese, Maceratino and of course Verdicchio on about 25 hectares of vineyards.
