Raineri represents the artisanal soul of the Langhe, shaped by friendship and tradition. Not the story of a centuries-old inheritance passively received, but rather the adventure of three friends — Gianmatteo Raineri (known to everyone as “Jimmy”), Fabrizio Giraudo and Luciano Racca — who in 2005 decided to join forces and give voice to their own vision of wine. Raised among the vineyards of the Langhe, the three partners took their first steps almost as a challenge, starting with a few bottles of Dolcetto in the Dogliani area. But when Nebbiolo runs through your veins and the finest vineyards of Monforte d'Alba are within reach, the call of the “King of Wines” becomes irresistible. Thus, by 2006, the project had already expanded to the production of Barbera and Barolo, finding its home in Novello, in the Panerole hamlet, in a winery once owned by a legendary name such as Domenico Clerico. If you ask Gianmatteo the secret behind his wines, he will tell you that everything happens in the vineyard. Raineri’s philosophy is based on almost obsessive respect for the vine. No chemical shortcuts or herbicides are used. Every task, from pruning to harvest, is carried out strictly by hand, following the rhythms of nature with a sustainable approach. It could be described as a “close-contact viticulture”, where every single vine is monitored daily to ensure that only perfect grapes reach the cellar. This dedication results in wines that do not seek to impress with special effects or technological excesses.
