"Stillarosea" Salento IGP Rosato Primitivo 2025
    • Stillarosea by Cantina Sampietrana is born in the heart of the Brindisi province, in a land where the sun shines intensely yet the air remains lively thanks to the proximity of the coast. Salento is a magical peninsula, a strip of land kissed by two seas where viticulture has millennia-old roots. Here the soil is red and rich in minerals, perfect for giving character even to the gentlest expressions of local grape varieties. Once considered the “wine reservoir of Europe”, these lands have now shifted direction, focusing entirely on finesse and the enhancement of their territorial identity. Made from 100% Primitivo, in this “rosé” version it reveals its most refined and delicate side. Primitivo provides Stillarosea with a base of crisp red fruit aromas and a natural smoothness that makes the sip enveloping without ever becoming cloying. The secret lies in timing. A short skin maceration extracts that delicate colour reminiscent of onion skin or rose petals. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel to preserve the purity of the fruit. The masterstroke, however, is the ageing process, which includes around six months in barriques. This technical choice does not mask the aromas, but enhances the structure and gives the wine greater longevity than most classic rosés. On the nose, it reveals a bouquet that speaks of spring, with clear notes of rosehip and pomegranate intertwined with fresh, youthful apricot. On the palate it is dry and decisive. Freshness is the true backbone of the wine, cleansing the palate and inviting another sip. The finish is long and consistent, leaving a pleasant fruity memory that never tires. Ideal with a seafood crudité platter, seafood risotto or delicate white meats.

More than half a century of history! “We have always produced our wines directly in our winery, using only grapes from our own vineyards, largely Apulian bush vines over 50 years old, cared for with love and dedication.” Maximum authenticity, one might add, with a careful focus on what truly matters. Such as sustainable practices in the vineyard, including integrated or organic protection methods, and the use of alternative energy in the winery. All this within a strong social reality located in San Pietro Vernotico, in the province of Brindisi. The wines are the result of working with native grape varieties such as Negroamaro, Primitivo and Malvasia. Alongside them, the ancient Susumaniello, Aglianico, Sangiovese, Montepulciano, Lambrusco, Fiano and Verdeca. As well as “international” varieties such as Syrah, Cabernet, Merlot and Chardonnay, which here in southern Italy produce wines of great pleasure and character.
