"Petra Fina" Rosato Campania IGP 2021 - Cantavitae

Its colour is reminiscent of the sky at sunset. Petra Fina is born in a magical place, from vineyards rooted in a rich, volcanic soil and gently lulled by sea breezes. A delicate, elegant and fresh wine, it is made from Primitivo and Piedirosso grapes, harvested slightly earlier than the time of full ripeness, to maintain the freshness necessary to obtain a very pleasant rosé wine, while enhancing the typical aromas of the two varieties. Campania IGP, during harvesting the bunches are picked by hand and transported in perforated crates to limit stress and the possibility of damage. In the cellar, the grapes are first cryo-macerated, to extract all the finest aromas, and then fermented at a low temperature for about 40 days. At the end of vinification, the wine remains for 5 months in steel tanks, in contact with its "noble lees" and subject to periodic bâtonnage. In the glass it reveals a marvellous colour that can be described as either cherry pink or salmon or coral. The aromas are reminiscent of wild roses, small white flowers and light spices. In the mouth it is fresh and harmonious, with a pleasantly persistent finish. It is a fish wine par excellence, excellent with raw seafood, it can also accompany a fine buffalo mozzarella.

Azienda Agricola CantaVitae is located in Marano di Napoli. The winery is run by a young agronomist and oenologist, Michelangelo Schiattarella, a true wine craftsman. The company's vineyards are located in different areas of the region. The fundamental choice, in fact, was to link the grapes to the territory of origin. The Piedirosso and Falanghina varieties come from Campi Flegrei and are used for the production of DOC wines. Aglianico and Falanghina come from Sannio, while Primitivo comes from the Aurunci area, between lower Lazio and the province of Caserta. However, the main focus of activities takes place in the cellar. The white and red wines follow different procedures and timescales. Each bunch of grapes is carefully selected and processed in full respect of the raw material. Each vat is followed and monitored at all stages, so that the wines can reach the delicate stage of refinement at the right time, without stress.
