Voila’, it had to happen sooner or later, and finally here it is: NumeroZero, the Franciacorta symbol of Villa Crespia. Since the first harvest, it has been the bearer of a precise company choice: zero dosage. A very fine perlage, a nose that expresses itself on variegated scents that reach hazelnut and cornmeal paste, a fresh and vibrant flavour. Zero dosage, tenfold satisfaction!

The "dosage" is the final phase (before corking and labelling) of the production of the classic method sparkling wine. It involves the addition of dosage syrup to varying degrees: this is a mixture of wine and sugar, more rarely distilled, but the composition varies depending on the producer and constitutes the "signature" that makes each sparkling wine unique and special, and helps determine the residual sugar. Zero dosage represents the first step on the scale, and requires a quantity of residual sugar of less than 3 g/l. NumeroZero sums up the best that the chardonnay grapes from which it is born and the morainic soils of Franciacorta can give. "When I was a researcher in the field of oenology” explains Francesco Iacono, oenologist at Arcipelago Muratori , “I participated in a study conducted in Franciacorta to identify the nature of the soils. We discovered that in the small territory known by this appellation, just over 2.000 hectares, there are no less than six different environments. I based the personality of Villa Crespia Franciacorta wines on these six different environments, each of which brings distinct characteristics to the grapes that I want to find in the glass. Villa Crespia pays homage to Franciacorta, Italy's great spumante metodo classico, right from its name: in the Middle Ages, "Crespie" were the sparkling wines. Villa Crespia is the main island of the Muratori Archipelago, an ideal voyage through four wine-producing "islands" located in Italy from north to south: the Franciacorta metodo classico, Tuscany's Val di Cornia, land of red wines, Benevento's Sannio dedicated to "yellow" wines, and the island of Ischia, chosen for its conversation wine.
