"Raggio" Vermentino Umbria IGT 2019 - Tenuta Cavalier Mazzocchi

A real "ray of sunshine". A fresh and fragrant white wine that comes from Vermentino grapes grown in Umbria by Tenuta Mazzocchi. Grapes selected and processed in full respect of their integrity. Carefully vinified in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to enhance the rich bouquet of aromas, it is a perfect wine for a thousand occasions. Good as an aperitif, this Umbrian Vermentino has what it takes to give great satisfaction to those looking for a wine to pair with delicate fish dishes. Characterized by a straw yellow colour with greenish reflections, it has an intense nose, with floral scents and citrus notes. In the mouth it is fresh and has a good acidity. In spite of its good structure, it is a decidedly drinkable and very persistent wine.

The agricultural tradition of the Mazzocchi family has a long history and has been handed down from generation to generation. In 1919, the great-grandparents of the current owners left the valleys of the mountains of Stroncone, in the province of Terni, and moved to the hills of Calvi dell'Umbria. Here they found the ideal conditions to expand their farm. The grandfather, Torquato, then continued the work started by his parents and bought several small plots of land, expanding to the municipality of Narni, where the company is now based. In 1974, new vineyards were created where Ciliegiolo, Merlot, Malvasia and Vermentino were cultivated, to which Chardonnay and Cabernet were added over time. Today the company can count on about 10.5 hectares of vineyards out of a total of 70 and the current owners were among the founders of the Ciliegiolo di Narni IGT Association, to promote this wine that is considered the best ambassador of its territory.
