"La Fabriseria" Valpolicella DOC Classico Superiore 2019
  • You have to be very patient if you want to create important wines. This La Fabriseria, Tedeschi's Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG, Classico and Riserva, is a fine example. This wine, in fact, comes from a selection of grapes made in the Fabriseria vineyard, located on the Valpolicella Classica hillside between the municipalities of Fumane and Sant'Ambrogio. Born out of Renzo Tedeschi's passion for good wine and above all his aptitude for always seeking out the best, this red wine is only produced in the best vintages, as it has been since 1983, the year it was first presented. From a vineyard that is 20 years old (on average), La Fabriseria is made from 40% Corvina and Corvinone grapes, 15% Rondinella and 5% Oseleta. Harvested at the end of September, beginning of October, the drying phase lasts for about 4 months. Then, after vinification, the wine is put into Slavonian oak barrels, where it rests for no less than 4 years. Then, after bottling, follows a further bottle-ageing phase of about one year. A long, long wait. Which is repaid, however, from the very first taste. In the glass one discovers a wine characterised by a beautiful intense ruby colour. The nose is striking for the generosity of its bouquet, characterised by clear aromas of ageing, roasting, vanilla and tobacco, alongside red fruit and cherries in spirit. Then violet, almond and more balsamic notes. In the mouth, it is elegant and endowed with a robust tannic structure, good acidity and clear fruit flavours. Long wine

The Tedeschi winery is located in the centre of Pedemonte, in the heart of Valpolicella Classica. Always committed to the development of their own vineyard, they were among the first to vinify grapes from individual plots separately. Huge investments have been made over the years in the vinification area, precisely to optimise the fermentation activities of the different vineyards. For the delicate phase of maturation, then, the winery equipped itself with Slavonian oak barrels, with capacities ranging from 1000 to 5000 litres. Finally, between 1995 and 2005, Tedeschi started an important study to control the grapes during the drying phase. This allowed them to build a modern fruit cellar, capable of ensuring the integrity of the grapes during the entire processing cycle, thanks to careful control of the humidity in the environment and regular ventilation. However, so much effort and attention has paid off. Over the years, in fact, the Tedeschi winery has won numerous prizes and awards from the strictest wine critics, in Italy and abroad.
