"Monteoro" Vermentino di Gallura Superiore DOCG 2023
  • Gallura is synonymous with Vermentino. There's no doubt about that. In no other part of Sardinia, and probably in the Mediterranean, is Vermentino as good and able to express itself at such high levels. Sella & Mosca produces Monteoro with the grapes that come from the hilly strip of the southern side of Mount Limbara. Here a fortunate mix of soils and climate allow Vermentino to ripen in an excellent way. The grapes are then softly pressed and processed with absolute respect for temperature, so as to preserve the finest and most elegant aromas. The result is a fresh and immediate wine. A beautiful goblet of brilliant straw color that bewitches for the richness of its aromas. A mix of fresh and tropical fruits, aromatic herbs and Mediterranean scrub. In the mouth it is soft, thanks to the nice structure, but also balanced by a bright acidity. A bottle capable of accompanying an unforgettable evening, between memories of past holidays and projects for the one that has yet to begin. To do it justice at the table, let's put it to the test with a tasty fish-based first course.

If you think of the Sardinia of wine you cannot in any case overlook its most famous brand in the world. We are talking, of course, about Sella Mosca. For over a century, Sella Mosca has been the symbol of Sardinian quality viticulture, and a reference brand for millions of wine lovers who, after experiencing a dream holiday, rediscover a bit of that magic, thanks to its wines, once back in their own cities. What few people know, however, is that the Sardinian winery actually has Piedmontese origins. In fact, engineer Sella and lawyer Mosca were born in Sabaudia and it is to them that we owe the merit of having started the reclamation works and the planting of the first vineyards of the company. Today Sella Mosca can count on more than 540 hectares of vineyards, managed with rigour and competence by a team of expert agronomists. The grapes are processed in a modern winery, equipped with all the latest technology, giving rise to wines of great personality and with deep ties with the territory. Since December 2015, Sella Mosca has been part of the galaxy of companies belonging to the Terra Moretti Group.
