Cabernet Sauvignon Friuli DOC 2021 - I Magredi

If you close your eyes and take a sip of this wine, you can really understand what an elegant Cabernet Sauvignon should be like. The prince of red grape varieties, this grape is recognised for its characteristics of strength and power. Here, I Magredi offers it in a super easy version, vinified and aged in steel tanks that bring out all the goodness of the initial fruit. No superstructure due to the passage of the wine in wood. No compromise. What you discover in the glass represents the pure essence of the vine. In the glass, in particular, one discovers a wine characterised by a beautiful intense ruby red colour. On the nose, the aromas are typical, with a subtle herbaceous note and definite hints of ripe fruit, such as raspberry and cherry. On the finish, then, a pleasant spiciness brings to mind freshly ground black pepper. On the palate it is dry, full but above all extremely fine and endowed with a noble and mature tannin. Perfect with chickpea or legume soups, this Friulian red wine also goes well with simple pasta dishes based on stuffed pasta or semi-aged cheeses.

The I Magredi estate was purchased in 1968 by Otello Tombacco, an entrepreneur from Oderzo in the province of Treviso. Initially the estate was divided between arable land, apple trees, peaches and vineyards. The turning point came in 1985, when Michelangelo, Otello's son, after obtaining his diploma as an agricultural expert, started working in the family business. Within a few years, I Magredi was definitively transformed into a winery. The first part of the current winery was built in 1990 and over the years has undergone extensions and modernisation of structures and technologies. Today the company can count on modern, state-of-the-art facilities with which to process the grapes from the estate vineyards. I Magredi is also an environmentally friendly winery. In fact, a powerful photovoltaic system has been installed in the winery, phyto-purification of the winery's waste water is carried out and an atomizer is used to recover and reuse excess water in the production of the wines. Theirs, therefore, are good wines that do not harm our health or that of the environment in which they are produced. Double satisfaction!
