"Mea Rosa" Liguria di Levante Rosato IGT 2021 - Cantine Lunae Bosoni

Rosé wine has been part of the Ligurian oenological tradition for many years. In Mearosa, Colli di Luni DOC proposed here by Lunae Bosoni, one can appreciate all the typical characteristics of its territory of origin. Freshness, elegance, fruit and complexity. Mearosa also has another peculiarity. It is, in fact, a wine produced from an ancient autochthonous vine, rediscovered and replanted thanks to Paolo Bosoni's sensitivity: the black vermentino. Vineyards located in the hills of Luni and Castelnuovo Magra, in this case the grapes undergo cold maceration on the skins for about 8 hours. This is followed by alcoholic fermentation, again at a controlled temperature, in steel, and a slow ageing phase on the fine lees lasting 4 months. The black Vermentino is characterised by elegance, fruit, freshness and delicate tannins. Perfect elements for a rosé of great quality. Careful vinification of the grapes at a controlled temperature and not excessive time on the skins give the finished wine a delicate pomegranate pink colour, with intense aromas of great elegance.

We are located on the border between Liguria and Tuscany. Here stands the Lunae Bosoni winery. We are in the heart of the green Lunigiana, where vines have been cultivated since Etruscan times. Lunae, in particular, was an ancient Etruscan-Greek port, named after the ancient goddess of the moon, Selene. The Bosoni family, on the other hand, has been producing quality wine for five generations, valorising local and forgotten vines, in the strictest respect for the cycles of nature. The vineyards, divided between little plains and many hills, are organised in small plots. Untraceable varieties are grown there, such as Pollera Nera, Massaretta, Vermentino Nero and Albarola. The absolute protagonist, however, is undoubtedly Vermentino, which has contributed to making Lunae Bosoni a true benchmark for the Italian wine world. That right compromise between the freshness of the Alps and the savouriness of the sea.
