  • Vinification Pecorino is an ancient white grape variety that has almost disappeared and has recently been rediscovered; a must try for those who believe that Trebbiano is the only white wine in the Abruzzo region. The grapes are selected and harvested by hand in mid-September in our vineyards. Following destemming, cold maceration and soft pressing are carried out. The must obtained is then fermented in stainless steel tanks for 12 days at 16-18 °C with controlled yeasts. Refinement in the bottle for 2 months follows.

  • Let us start with the grape variety. We are dealing with an indigenous grape of great class. We are talking about Pecorino, an ancient white grape variety capable of giving the better-known Trebbiano a run for its money. iLauri grow it in Loreto Aprutino, in a vineyard with plants aged between 8 and 18 years. We are about 300 metres above sea level, in a vineyard of about 5.5 hectares with optimal southeastern exposure. Avalos is the name of an ancient Spanish family that moved to Italy and was a historical antagonist of the Medici family. Here, in the green heart of Italy, it nurtured cultural centres of undisputed and renowned excellence. Pecorino delle Colline Pescaresi IGT, Avalos is, however, and above all, a sumptuous and structured white wine, clearly expressing notes of white-fleshed fruit, peach and fresh pear. It is the right wine for a thousand occasions. Versatile, it perfectly accompanies mouth-watering dishes such as fried fish or large grilled poor fish. A real gem not to be missed.

    I Lauri is a small company born from a dream. That of Antonella and Rodrigo who, in 2004, realising they shared a passion for wines and a love for their land, Abruzzo, decided to take a plot of land in Loreto Aprutino. From that purchase to the creation of their first vineyard, the step was short. And in 2007 the first harvest. Today, the company obtains its raw materials - grapes and olives - from rented land in Loreto Aprutino, Collecorvino and Città Sant'Angelo. The name 'iLauri' is a tribute to the town's inhabitants. Loreto Aprutino, in fact, stands on a hill covered with laurel trees and was formerly called Lauretum, meaning 'grove' or 'laurel tree'.
